Unit 3 Objectives

There will be 3 multiple choice questions. Students should be able to:
  1. Convert to and from scientific notation.
  2. Use properties of exponents to simplify an expression.
  3. Add, subtract, and multiply polynomials.
  4. Evaluate polynomials for given value.
  5. Factor polynomial expressions completely. Be prepared to demonstrate all types of factoring covered in this unit.
  6. Solve polynomial equations algebraically (Find the zeros using the zero product principle.).
  7. Solve geometric application problems (area, Pythagorean Theorem)
  8. Write a second degree equation or function given the zeros.
