Kansas Algebra Program

The Kansas Algebra Program consists of two Courses:

Math 002 Intermediate Algebra
[kap/002book.jpg] The main goal of this course is to prepare students for work in a college level mathematics course. The content focuses on the study of algebraic operations and equation-solving procedures with an emphasis on linear and quadratic functions.  The content includes studying operations with real numbers, algebraic expressions, exponents, polynomials, rational expressions, radicals and rational exponents.  We will study linear and absolute value equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations, and functions.
Math 101 College Algebra
[kap/CAtext06.jpg] As a first level course in the fulfillment of the mathematics requirement for graduation, a main goal of College Algebra is the preparation for subsequent work in a higher level mathematics course (i.e. calculus sequence or statistics).  The course is designed to reinforce basic skills and deepen conceptual understanding of algebraic principles which are fundamental to mathematical reasoning.  The content focuses on the study of functions and their graphs, data analysis and interpretation, and techniques of solving equations and inequalities.   The functions studied will include constant, linear, absolute value, square root, polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic.
