Configuring Other Mail Clients For SSL

If you are using some client other than Thunderbird or Apple Mail, then you will need to consult the documentation of your mail client on how to set up SSL encryption. Use the following information when configuring your mail client.

General Information

Use the settings below to configure your mail client. Be sure that you check your mail clients Use SSL or Encrypt connections option. Clients that do not support secure connections are not supported and will not be able to connect to Math mail services.

• Mail Server: mail.math.ku.edu (both incoming and outgoing)
• Incoming/Outgoing Mail Port Settings:
  • For IMAP, use port 993 (incoming mail)
  • For POP, use port 995 (incoming mail)
  • For SMTP, use port 465 (outgoing mail)
• Authentication is required for both incoming and outgoing connections.
