The weather in Lawrence in late April is mild, with an average high in the lower 70's Fahrenheit (around 20 degrees Celsius) and an average low in the lower 50's Fahrenheit (around 10 degrees Celsius). Rain is not uncommon at this time of year.

Here is a map of the KU campus. Most conference events will be held in Snow Hall (indicated in blue at I-4 on the map). Parking is available along Memorial Drive (lots 36 and 39 on the map). There is also a large parking lot (52) a short walk away, north of Snow Hall. Parking in these lots is free and unrestricted on Friday (after 5:00 pm) and Saturday, except at accessible spaces, garages and parking meters. (There is a fee at the parking garages and you must still feed the meters.)

Bus service is available every day except Sunday between campus and downtown. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the dates you will be here.

KU offers a guest wireless network, KUGUEST. You can access this though your wireless devices by selecting KUGUEST from your network control panel. KU is also a member of the eduroam network. If you are visiting from another eduroam institution you can use make use your eduroam login. Please consult your technical department for eduroam setup instructions before leaving your institution.

Downtown Lawrence has a large number of restaurants, with many price ranges and a wide variety of cuisines. The Oread Hotel just off campus has several restaurants with many price ranges as well.

The University of Kansas has two excellent museums: a Natural History Museum, and the Spencer Art Museum.

Lawrence also has a widely-known music scene, with a number of clubs downtown, various folk music venues around town, and several concert halls.
