announces

Mathematics Competition

at three levels: Elementary, Junior High, and High School

First, Second, and Third Prizes awarded at each level.

2:00-3:30 p.m.
405 Snow Hall
University of Kansas

The exam at the Elementary level will reflect math taught through the sixth grade. The exam at the Junior High level will reflect the level of math taught through the eighth grade. The exam at the High School level will cover material through the eleventh grade. Calculators will be allowed on the exam. Presentation of solutions is considered in the grading of the exam. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each category,at the Mathematics Department s Honors Banquet on April 25. Winners will be notified by mail.Certificates for participants will be sent to their schools.

Registration begins at 2:00 pm.The exam will start at 2:30 pm and will last about one hour.Parents are welcome to wait in the lounge areas during the exam.Participant s will be released to these areas when they complete the exam.
