Research Interests

Commutative Algebra

Professor Mandal's primary research interest is projective modules and complete intersections, which falls broadly in the area of commutative algebra and relates directly to algebraic geometry and topology. A greater part of Professor Mandal's research career was devoted to develop an obstruction theory for projective modules, in analogy to a similar theory in topology.
