DISCRETE AND COMPUTATIONAL GEOMETRY

Special Issue in Honor of Louis J. Billera

In his distinguished career Prof. Louis J. Billera has published in the areas of game theory, geometric combinatorics and algebraic combinatorics. He has supervised 17 Ph.D.s, and mentored many other mathematicians. This special issue of Discrete and Computational Geometry honors the contributions of Louis Billera in celebration of his 60th birthday.

Authors are encouraged to submit articles on topics related to Louis Billera's work. These include (but are not limited to) convex polytopes, partially ordered sets, oriented matroids, hyperplane arrangements, splines, triangulations, shellability, and applications of geometry to probability.

The guest editors of this special issue are Margaret Bayer, Carl Lee and Bernd Sturmfels. Papers should be submitted to Carl Lee at the address below. The preferred form of submission is electronic, with LaTeX-2e as the preferred file format. Following is the timetable for the special issue.

Deadline for submission of full papers: August 25, 2003
Notification of acceptance/rejection: January 25, 2004
Final revised manuscripts due: March 25, 2004

In order to achieve the earliest possible publication date, we will adhere strictly to the above deadlines. All submissions will be refereed according to the very high standards of Discrete and Computational Geometry. This announcement and updated information about the special issue can be obtained from the guest editors for this volume.
