Course : Math 790, Linear Algebra II
Time and Place : MWF 1:00 - 1:50, Snow Hall 454
Description: In this course we will study linear algebra in an abstract setting. Topics to be covered include vector spaces, dual spaces, innner product spaces (including orthonormal bases via Graham-Schmidt), linear transformations, eigenvalues, matrices (including the trace and the determinant), and canonical forms. In fact, one of the principal goals of the course is to cover rational and Jordan canonical forms for matrices. Further topics include linear operators of various types on finite dimensional spaces.
