Text: Applied Calculus, Berresford, Houghton Miffin, 1996, Chapters 5-8, and Sections 1-3 of Chapter 10.
Prerequisite: MATH 115 or MATH 121 plus a course in trigonometry (MATH 103 may be taken concurrently). Not open to students with credit in MATH 122 or MATH 118.
Three hours credit
Topics: Integration and its applications, integration techniques, calculus of functions of several variables, trigonometric functions, sequences and series.
Test Dates:
Test 1 Thursday February 11, 2:30-3:50 pm
Test 2 Thursday March 11, 2:30-3:50 pm
Test 3 Thursday April 8, 2:30-3:50 pm
Final Exam Friday May 14, 3:00-6:00 pm
Homework: Assignments will usually be given at every lecture, due for next Tuesday. No late homework will be accepted. You are encouraged to do (or at least read) the unassigned exercises of the corresponding section as well. You may discuss the problems with others, but you must write your own solutions. Explain your solutions well, giving just the ``final answers'' is not sufficient.
Evaluation: Grades will be based on: 20% for each of the three tests, 30 % for the final exam, and 10% for the homework.
