Central Kansas

The pictures presented on these pages were taken on May 30, 1999 on which I embarked together with Gábor Szabó.

Louis Vieux Elm Tree

This almost three-hundred year old elm tree is still alive, surviving a civil war, and the barbaric act of two vandals who set off a pipe bomb in its crotch in 1998.

Konza Prairie

Near Manhattan, KS, a protected area of native untouched prairie. We went there just at the right time, when most flowers were blooming.

Abilene

Birthplace of Eisenhower, its historic downtown evokes the time when the Wild West was still wild.

Lindsborg

Also known as "little Sweden", this town on the Smokey River has some really beautiful buildings.

Coronado Heights

Just outside Lindsborg, offers the best view of the area. Especially if you arrive at sunset, just like we have!
