On Wednesday, November 29th, we cover:

• The group of fractional linear transforms PGL_2 (C) (continued).

• A remark on the group of proper rotations of a cube.

• The subgroup H of PGL_2 (C) of polynomial functions of degree 1,

and the exact sequence 0 -> G_a (C) -> H -> C* -> {1}.

• H is isomorphic to the "automorphism group of the polynomial

ring" C [x] over C, with a remark that the "automorphism group

of the polynomial ring" C [x_1, .. , x_n] over C is not represented as

a subgroup of PGL_{n+1} (C) (n > 1).

• PGL_2 (C) is isomorphic to the "automorphism group of the field

of rational functions" C (x) over C, with a remark that

the "automorphism group of the field of rational functions"

C (x_1, .. , x_n) over C is strictly bigger than PGL_{n+1} (C)

(n > 1).
