Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my friends and all of you who are visiting or have visited this site 

It's easy to get sleepy when studying in these kinds of days I decide not to study tonight, and will enjoy my life in the virtual world after dinner I'll put some pictures from that world later.

12/21/06 - 21:57Moving office

My current office will be remodeled to become an office for Economics Dept., so I'm going to move into the new office upstairs. But the new office will not be ready until the estimated date of January 15. Although there is a room to stay temporarily, I packed all my stuff into three boxes, and took them home tonight. Then I may not go to school for about two weeks It is good to stay at home, especially when it is cold outside

11/29/06 - 19:21Game and Life

I tried to avoid thinking about one thing, but it turned out that I could not keep away from it forever. After wandering for a few months, I finally made up my mind to give up, to give up the most important thing to me. Then I got lost because everything became not that important. I keep going since there is still one thing in my mind, i.e., to make the life of my family and friends better. But for myself, I do not expect anything. Anything I get, is a gift to me.

11/29/06 - 15:19First snow in 2006

After the class from 1:00 to 1:50 pm today, I realized that it was snowing outside. This is the first snow in 2006 at Lawrence, a little later than the first snow in 2005. Winter is finally coming, and weather is changing. I need to change too! I haven't written anything on my blog for a while, because I was either busy or lazy. I will write a long entry tonight, which will be the third and the last entry in November 2006

11/04/06 - 22:56A crazy day

As planned, I picked up Xi, Jing, Wen and Kan at front desk at 11:00am. Then we drove towards Kansas City. First we drove to Genghiskhan and had lunch there. Then we drove to 888 Oriental Market for grocery shopping. After shopping, we drove to overland park mall and walked around for about one hour. Jing bought a pair of nice-looking shoes and four boxes of fragrance. Wen and Kan bought something else. Then we drove to the Korean Oriental Market, and bought some Kimchi and Tofu there. Then we drove back to Lawrence.

10/29/06 - 10:07Time change

I was waken up by the radio clock alarm at 7:00am, then I turned the alarm off. I grabbed my cellphone, preparing to turn the alarm off too once it was activated (should be 2 minutes later). But there was no alarm. Then I fell asleep again, and was waken up by the alarm of cellphone one hour later. I looked at the cellphone, the time was 7:00am, but the time on the radio clock was 8:02am. Then I realized that it was the time to change clock time. Usually the school sends email to us to notify the changing of time, but I did not get any information this time. Then I turned on the computer, and checked the time. It was automatically changed back one hour. So it is real. Then I have to change the time for two clocks at home and one at the office Now, there are 14 hours time difference between Lawrence and Beijing.

10/28/06 - 10:53Square dance

Although I knew I would be very busy this weekend, but I till marked "square dance" on my calender. It was on Friday evening 7:00pm, held by Len, once a year. I went every year except the last one. It was fun. "A Square Dance is the traditional American folk dance.  It is done as a large group of people who are directed by a person who is calling out instructions as you dance.  Even if you have never done it before, YOU CAN DO IT.   ".

10/20/06 - 00:18Trip to Texas-5

(continued, Saturday)

I woke up at 7:00am, and got up at about 8:00am. Zhiming felt better, but still was not in good shape. My flight was at 1:15pm, so I only have the morning left in College Station. The only scenery there was George Bush's Library. I thought it was for younger Bush (the current president of USA), but it was for the older Bush We drove there at about 9:00am, and walked around. I did not want to go in since it was mostly literature documents for Bush. The scenery outside was good, especially the lovely lonely duck beside the pond. There were a few groups of people there, who might come for the football game in the afternoon.

10/19/06 - 23:46Trip to Texas-4

We arrived at the Chinese restaurant at about 1:00pm. It became sunny, with some white clouds in the blue sky. There were not many people in the restaurant. We ordered several dishes, and all of them were very delicious. They were close to the style in China, which were much better than those in Genghiskan (the good buffet restaurant at KC). I enjoyed the food a lot, but Zhingming did not eat much. He did not feel comfortable due to the wind at Galveston in the morning. Jianye paid for us, and we could not finish eating, so we took the left-over home.

10/18/06 - 23:58Trip to Texas-3

(continued, Friday)

I woke up at 5:30am by the alarm. Unlike at home, I was ready to get up once turned down the alarm. While I was taking shower, Jianye called and Zhiming answered the call. Feiyan was not going with us, but was waken up by us We were all going in Zhiming's car. Kevin was sleeping, and we put him in the car. We carried two coolers, a net and plenty of food. Jianye had been there before, so he gave directions while Zhiming was driving. It was cloudy but did not rain.
