Text: Excursions in Mathematics by Tannenbaum and Arnold
Also: I may provide additional notes
Material to be covered: In this course we pick and introduce several areas of discrete/elementary mathematics with an emphasis in STATISTICS. I plan to start with Chapter 10 on Population Growth. After that I plan to cover that Part 4 of the text on Statistics. I plan to supply and cover some more material on statistics from other sources. If time permits we may go into other topics.
Calculator: A calculator that can do some statistical computations will be essential and helpful. I will be happy if you have a TI-83.
